Server Setup & Verification

Learn how to add your server to WERM and verify your ownership to start selling.

Adding Your Server

To add a server, go to Dashboard → Servers → Add Server and fill in the following information:

Server Name

Your server's display name (e.g., "My Awesome SMP"). This is shown to players.

IP Address / Domain

The address players use to connect (e.g., "play.myserver.com" or "123.45.67.89"). We support SRV records.

Port

Default is 25565. Only change if your server uses a different port.

Description

A detailed description of your server. Supports basic markdown formatting.

Categories & Tags

Select the game modes and add tags to help players find your server (e.g., Survival, PvP, Economy).

Server Verification

Before you can sell products, you need to verify that you own the server. We offer three verification methods:

Plugin Verification
Recommended

The fastest and most reliable verification method. Simply install the WERM plugin with your verification token.

  1. Download and install the WERM plugin
  2. Copy your verification token from the dashboard
  3. Add the token to your plugin config.yml
  4. Restart your server
  5. The plugin will automatically verify your server

MOTD Verification

Verify by temporarily adding a token to your server's MOTD (Message of the Day).

  1. Copy your verification token from the dashboard
  2. Edit your server.properties file
  3. Add the token to your MOTD (can be hidden with color codes)
  4. Restart your server
  5. Click "Verify Now" in the dashboard
  6. Once verified, you can remove the token from your MOTD

Tip: Using §8 makes the token dark gray, making it nearly invisible.

DNS TXT Verification

Verify ownership by adding a TXT record to your domain's DNS settings.

  1. Copy your verification token from the dashboard
  2. Go to your domain's DNS settings (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, etc.)
  3. Add a TXT record with the token
  4. Wait for DNS propagation (usually 5-30 minutes)
  5. Click "Verify Now" in the dashboard

Verification Token

Your verification token is a unique code that proves you control the server. It looks like:

werm_a1b2c3d4e5f6g7h8i9j0...
Tokens expire after 24 hours if not used
You can regenerate a new token anytime from the dashboard
Keep your token private - it identifies your server

After Verification

Your server is verified!

Once verified, your server will show a verified badge and you can:

  • • Create and sell products
  • • Receive purchase deliveries via the plugin
  • • Access analytics and reports
  • • Configure webhooks for real-time notifications
  • • Apply for featured server placement

Troubleshooting

Server shows as offline
  • • Verify your IP address and port are correct
  • • Check if your server is accessible from the internet
  • • Ensure no firewall is blocking connections
  • • Try pinging your server from an external tool
MOTD verification not working
  • • Make sure the token is in your MOTD (visible or hidden)
  • • Restart your server after editing server.properties
  • • Check for typos in the token
  • • Some hosting panels may strip special characters
DNS verification taking too long
  • • DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours
  • • Verify the TXT record with: nslookup -type=TXT _werm.yourdomain.com
  • • Make sure the record name is _werm.yourdomain.com (with underscore)
  • • Try using a different DNS checker tool online
